Dance class: A great opportunity to learn about local styles of dancing including Salsa, Merengue and Cumbia.

Cooking class: Learn about local Costa Rican cuisine and cook a delicious free lunch with your classmates, or learn how to prepare a delicious fruit plate with the most exotic fruits found in Costa Rica.

Beach trips: Experience some of the most beautiful beaches in Guanacaste; Conchal and Tamarindo. Conchal Beach gets its name because the entire beach is covered in tiny fragments of shell. Tamarindo Beach is long and sandy, and is a surfers' paradise.
The library at CPI Flamingo organizes free cultural activities, tutoring, souvenir class, etc.

Guaitil town: An interesting excursion to a small town outside of Santa Cruz that is well known for its quality production of artisan artwork and pottery.

Parasail: Some of the most incredible views are from the sky. While in the air, you will have the chance to see various tropical fish, sea turtles, and crystal clear water for miles and miles.

Boat trip to discover different beaches: Guanacaste is Costa Rica 's most popular sun and beach destination. Every beach in the area is quite different and has a charm of its own. Admire these impressive beaches whilst sunbathing on the deck with a delicious drink in your hand.

Horseback riding: Horseback riding through the beach is a great way to explore the area.

Tamarindo mangroves & estuary: Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge protects a large estuary, mangrove forest and tropical dry forest in an area covering almost 400 hectares. The boat trip into the estuary offers an opportunity to observe rare and abundant wildlife – including monkeys and dozens of bird species - while learning about the unique ecosystem of the mangrove forest.

Turtle nesting (Nature night tour): Every night from November to February, one of the most amazing natural history tours in Costa Rica is available on the Guanacaste coast. This unforgettable adventure allows you to witness the nesting ritual of one of the largest reptiles on Earth: the leatherback sea turtle. These massive turtles drag themselves up into the beach which is the same nesting site they have used for countless generations, to lay their eggs. This highly educational and rewarding tour is ideal for the family.

Sailing tour (tour de velero): Sail past secluded beaches and head out to the volcanic reefs for some great snorkeling. The tour provides snacks, beverages, and finishes with a beautiful view of the sunset.

White Water Rafting: The rafting adventure tour starts with a fun twenty minute tractor ride to the Colorado River; once you get there the guide will provide the life- jackets, helmets, paddles and safety instructions. This river is good for beginners as it is rated as Class II and III due to the flats and quiet parts. Make sure that you wear something comfortable and that you bring your swimsuit, rubber sole shoes, a complete change of clothes, towel, sun block, sunglasses and a hat.

Palo Verde National Park: A 2-hour boat ride on the Tempisque Costa Rica's largest river is a most rewarding experience for anyone interested in nature. The park's main lagoon attracts the largest concentrations of waterfowl and wadding birds in all of Central America. A bird watcher's heaven, the surrounding tropical dry forest is home to everything from monkeys to scarlet macaws.

Hacienda Guachipelin (Combo tour): Hacienda Guachipelín is located at the foot of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, in Guanacaste. Hacienda Guachipelín is an ecotourism lodge for adventure travel and nature lovers. The hotel is surrounded by lush gardens with native trees, exotic flowers and many types of birds, and it has views to both the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and also the Pacific Ocean. Natural hot springs, rivers, natural pools, virgin forests, jungle waterfalls, tropical forests with birds, mammals, reptiles, insects and volcanic mud pots are just some of the many natural attractions tourists can enjoy during a stay at the Hacienda. For the adventurer, there are many activities in the lodge like horseback riding, the Canyon canopy tour and the Rio Negro Tubing Adventure tour.

Fishing trip: Both inshore & offshore fishing are world class on the Costa Rica 's pacific waters. Home to an abundance of large fish, which lure fishermen from around the world. Manuel Antonio Beach (Central Pacific): Two day excursion to Manuel Antonio Beach. The trip includes a full time guide, breakfast, transportation, accommodations, and entrance to the National Park, where you can walk along some of the beautiful trails and observe some of the amazing wildlife.

The weekend tours are a great idea for those students who are transferring to another CPI campus. Every weekend (subject to a minimum of students) the tours are offered from CPI Heredia, CPI Monteverde and CPI Flamingo and include pick up from your CPI accommodation and at the end of the tour, the chauffer will drop you off at your new CPI accommodation at the following campus.
