In order to secure the best service and attention for teenage students, CPI policy was extended to permit unaccompanied minors, aged 14 – 17 years, to study at CPI year-round. Teenagers are especially encouraged to attend CPI during their Christmas, Easter and summer breaks. Whether for only one week or for numerous weeks, through our intensive program (4 hours a day Spanish classes) or the super intensive course (5.5 hours a day Spanish classes), the CPI immersion program helps students to improve their Spanish. Teenagers also have the opportunity to earn undergraduate language credit from Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas. This institution is accredited by SACS, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Multinational Academic Program (MAP) for Study Abroad is designed to provide academic credits for systematic language study abroad. Click here to download the Authorization for Enrollment. Under the Minor Program all teenagers are required to:
During the summer, participants are typically grouped in class with other teenage students; over the rest of the year young students may be placed in class with students of all ages. CPI can provide a certificate indicating the amount of hours of Spanish studied and the level that was attained. This certificate may be presented to the high school or it may be useful for university applications. An assigned CPI staff member, typically the Student Coordinator, maintains contact with the student’s parent/chaperone to report on their child in general, and specifically how s/he is advancing with classes and/or adapting to the new culture. Teenagers may participate in the free cultural activities and in the excursions organized by the school. The CPI teen program is focused on Spanish language study. Teenagers quickly learn in the relaxed environment through small classes, complemented by personalized attention from our bilingual staff. Young students truly enjoy the exciting opportunity to live with a Costa Rican family and experience the tropical wonders of Costa Rica. All on-site expenses are included in the program. Students may register individually; it is not necessary to travel within the model of a pre-organized group. For more information, fees and references about this program contact our CPI authorized Representative. If you are interested on travel on July, and if you like soccer, we recommend you to combine the Teen program with the Soccer Camp; where the soccer sessions focus on training, drills, and game play, allowing players to learn the unique aspects of the Latin American soccer game, in addition you continue taking Spanish classes, living in a homestay and enjoying the tours.Click here for more information
