The increased immigration of Latin Americans and their subsequent
integration into North American society have led to newly emergent demands
on the social service system. This factor, coupled with the need for cultural
sensitivity, has led to a greater demand for psychologists and social workers
with a working knowledge of Spanish as well as an understanding of Latin
American culture. An excellent way to improve both language skills and cultural
awareness is to study in a Spanish speaking country.
For this reason, CPI has designed a special two-week seminar directed to
professionals working in the social services. The seminar includes Spanish
classes, professional talks, discussion groups and informational visits to
the local social service community.
