Yes. Students must request the CPI certificate on their last week of classes at CPI.
An option for an official and internationally recognized certificate which has proven to well serve professional purposes is the DELE exam. The "Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE)", issued by the prestigious Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry for Education and Science, are official qualifications accrediting levels of competence and command of the Spanish language; recognized worldwide by private companies, chambers of commerce and public and private educational systems, the DELE exams are the only officially accredited qualifications of the Kingdom of Spain that are administered internationally.
You can prepare for this exam at any of the CPI sites and sit the exam on established annual DELE dates at our CPI Heredia campus. The recommended minimum is a 4 week preparation course which includes one-on-one instruction totaling 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. This model permits the CPI professor to systematically clarify individual doubts, both written and oral, about the DELE exam topics as well as work on comprehension. Students who wish to prepare for the exam in less than four weeks may qualify depending on their Spanish level.
The DELE exam evaluates various levels of competence and command of the Spanish language:
- Diploma de Español Nivel A1 (entry level)
- Diploma de Español Nivel A2 (beginner level)
- Diploma de Español Nivel B1 (beginner/intermediate level)
- Diploma de Español Nivel B2 (intermediate level)
- Diploma de Español Nivel C1 (advanced level)
- Diploma de Español Nivel C2 (superior level)
For personal growth and as an important complementary addition to your curriculum vitae, CPI invites you to take the DELE exam for an official international accreditation of your Spanish level.
